Skills:
Innate: Sleight of Hand
Steals 10% of an enemy players gold by casting in on their hero. Pretty much use this skill as much as possible but use it on the right heroes at the right time to maximize the amount of gold you get. Good examples are heroes that have been killing a lot without a chance to shop, right when their about to shop, or after they've finished killing a bunch of creeps with an ability or summon. You can avoid the losing too much gold from a thief by turning your money into wood or just shopping as much as possible. It's also possible to trick the thief with transferring money, but it's tricky and can backfire on you when he finds out who your bank is.
Note: A good way to see who might have most money is to check how many creeps he has killed, and what items he has in his inventory.
Level 1: Khri Strike
Gives a chance to stun the target as well as deal extra damage and is basically a modified bash with 50% chance to stun. It is the thief's only good damage dealer before he gets his venom so focus on maxing this when you can't get poison and is especially important because early on he is a burden to the team.
Level 1: Evasion Mastery
An ability focusing entirely on granting the hero evasion that eventually maxes out to 70%. Not that useful early on since the creeps don't do that much damage and during that time you might want to ignore it. However it is one of the most useful defensive ability against creeps later on.
Level 6: Khri Silence
Allows the thief to become invisible as well as deal extra damage on a target while he is invisible. This skill can allow the thief to evade many situations that would normally kill him such as being stunned by offense or deadly attacks by creeps. However this skill does have a charge up time before the thief becomes invisible but it decreases as it is leveled up. Use this skill to evade danger, if you are low on health because you are out of pots/cd isn't ready, and have to use this spell, move away when you have used it as the other team might cast reveal to get you killed, and it's not that useful for dealing extra damage expect on the bonus waves.
Warning: this skill doesn't get you invisible immediately, it takes 2-3 secs to take effect, so dont use it at the last minute.
Level 10: Venom
A passive ability that poisons the target that kills them over time. Combining this with a maxed out Khri Strike means you never have to hit a target twice, besides bonus which isn't affected by it. So to use this effectively only hit each target once and then go on to the other creeps.
Note: This is the Thiefs main killing ability
Suggested playstyle:
When you play the thief you shouldn't go for items that increases damage, as he will kill with his Venom, only items I would recommend is those who help you survive longer/kill more, armor, rings(AGI for attack speed, STR for health) and so on.
Evasion is a must later on and the will basically be the only thing that allows him to tank at all because of his low hp.
Be neutral if you can at start, since you wont be able to kill much, try killing as much as you can without getting trapped, at level 10, one hit each creep and move on to the next, as they will die from your attack, the higher attack speed you have, the faster you will be able to hit.

Tips:
- Use your invisibility to avoid offensives, you can dodge stun, and escape while invisible if you got crippled/drunk.
Have at least 3-4 points in this skill later on to flee from the creeps if you get drunk/crippled. - Hit a creep only once, then move to the next creep, they will die by the Venom eventually anyway.
- Always steal! But time it correctly, waiting for a trader running to the shop could just as well give you more money than just stealing randomly.
- To increase your attackspeed buy an AGI ring.
- On the piercing waves it is extremely important to have a tower shield especially on the higher difficulties, unless you're 100% sure your buddies can save you or you have an ally who can tank those waves for you.
- Remember that you will kill most with your Venom, so don't buy item's that gives you more damage. The money is better spent into equipment that helps you survive longer!
