Xentago the Hypnotist
Hypnotist uses relatively little mana
Supports his team with Statsboosting and a good creepcontrol
With Mind Shout he can make some offensives useless and be pretty lethal with his Hallucination
Armor Type:
Unarmored
Damage Reduction:
Chaos 100%
Hero 100%
Magic 100%
Normal 100%
Pierce 150%
Siege 150%
Spells 100%
Skills:
Innate: Focus Moonbeam
Summons a Moonbeam at the targeted area, all heroes standing in it will recieve a small mana regeneration, is also used for Mind Shout.
Level 1: Prediction
This spell gives a permanent stat buff to you or your ally that is invaluable for your team. The random stat buff is between 0-6 at level 1, 0-14 at level 10 to all the target hero's stats, but DON'T USE IT ON YOURSELF. Not only do you suffer -2 penalty (so if you would have gotten 3+STR you get +1) the Hypnotist does not benefit from a stat bonuses. As none of his skills get any better from increased stats and he is a very low mana use hero. Prediction is best used on heroes that rely on all stats such as Weapon Smith and Mentalist, though any combat hero is a good choice.
It its random for each stat so you can get +1STR, +3AGI and +2INT.
With the numbers above, if you had targeted your hypnotist, you would have gotten -1STR +1AGI and 0INT, that is why you shouldn't statboost yourself.
Level 1: Hallucination
Purification can remove the effect of this skill
This skill can be used for both offense and defense. Target a creep and this spell will create an illusion of that creep that has the same health as the creep when it was targeted and has some passive abilities that creep possessed. The duration of the illusion increases as it is upgraded as well as the % in which the illusion deals damage goes up and the amount of damage it takes goes down. Since this spell has infinite range you can cast it on creeps anywhere on the map friendly or unfriendly. When maxed this spell has a relatively low cd which means you can create a small army.
Note: You can't illusion creeps made by the Summoner however you can illusion creeps made by the Spell Bringer's Darkrift as well as creeps that are sheared. This spell is affected by Spell Block but of courses only when used on enemy creeps.
Some of the abilities the creeps have doesn't work on hallucinations, when you use the skill, look if they got a good skill, if so, back with the hallucination, so it wont take damage, by doing that you may keep copy a creep with full, or next to full, hp.
Level 6: Mind Shout
Purification can remove the effect of this skill
This skill will be countered by monsters' SpellBlock
Currently not working on DarkRift either
Similar to the WC3 spell Hex or Polymorph this spell turns creeps into critters who can't attack or cast spell. The ability is done by using the Hypnotist Focus Moonbeam then casting Mind Shout all creeps near the Moonbeam will be turned into critters. While this spell is helpful it does have some drawbacks, it can be purified and heroes are programmed to go after creeps that are a threat so when the closest creeps are turned harmless the hero will try to attack creeps farther away. The hero will often get "stuck" on the creep, to solve this simply manually move the hero or attack the creep in front of you by clicking it or holding position.
Note: Is affected by Spell Block, triggers the spell block of all creeps it would normally hit.
Level 10: Telekinetic Storm
This spell creates several silvers that fly around the Hypnotist and damage enemy creeps. The spell doesn't count as something offensive by the creeps so they won't be drawn to him unless he comes into attack distance. The amount of silvers increase as it levels up. Very simple spell to use just stay away from creeps but close enough so the silvers will hit them.
Suggested Playstyle:
Very low cost hero in terms of both Mana usage and gold. Use his Prediction on your allies as much as possible they will love you for it.
Use your Hallucination as much as possible to help your team to catch leaks, to hold the front lines or to offense the enemy team sending illusions after weak heroes or to break down their tank.
Use Mind Shout when the situation is out of hand and at later levels it has a short cd.
When using your ultimate stay out of enemy attack range if possible or Mind Shout them first so they can't attack.
Suggested Items: Armor and Elite Elven Boots
Things that you might want to know/find useful:
- When you use Hallucination on your side, check what skills the hallucination got, some creeps could be worth saving for several levels even if they are lower level.
- If you choose to Hallucinate ranged creeps, try and get them behind a tank, that will help them survive longer, and they'll have more hp when you want to hallucinate them again.
- Always Hallucinate a Darkrift, creeps from 3waves into the future is always better than the current ones.
- If you use Hallucination for offensive, try and get Invisible units, go away with one of them, copy it so you get many, look if they got anything that reveals invisible units, if not, sneak by the tank, and go for the casters/ranged or any other weak hero.
- When you casted Mind Shout, try and run up to the same spot and place a Moonbeam before the creeps turn into normal again.
- Place your beam nearby the tank, and be prepared for any offensives, if you see that your tank is stunned and has low hp, or if they summoned Arhat/Uthmor use Mind Shout to help him survive longer.
- When you have used Mind shout, go up to the creeps and place a new Moonbeam nearby the tank.
