Yeah I plan to get it the day or day after it releases. I'm just too lazy to preorder because I haven't heard about any preorder bonus.

I dont know if this is ok to ask here:
if i only want to mess with the map maker, I can use a slower machine to run it right?

thx for black's info I am not a map maker, but the first video is interesting, it's seems that WOW's tech is used in SCII the visual is impressive, this is very interesting, cause the custom RPG map will definitely rock using the SCII engine/triggers. special force was/is my favorite map haha it's like the 7 blademaster, but easier cause once you hold up the first 15mins you can almost die free it's a shame that blizzard cannot port the old code into the new ones(or maybe this kind of info is not release to the public yet?!) well, maybe it is not wise to port the old code into the new system, since the old map system maybe too crappy to integrate........@.@ ok it seems that you can customize the body parts' position of the char model? this comes from the WOW i am afraid............this is a great eye candy! but I think the only way to dig out the new triggers/map making mechanism is to actually playing with it the other idea i can think of is the NPC's full screen animation/conversation, it's troublesome when one ppl acitivate one NPC's conversation then all players' screens are occupied by it, it's annoying(like the Final fantacy map) probably it's solved in other maps. Again, I am a total idiot in map making -.-'''' ========more thoughts for later------------- Finally they are charging fees for battle.net usage.........
that will give me no choice but leaving bnet to other 3rd party facility....

or do I mistaken?whoop just googled HON and LOL(not what it use to be XD) nice online games? I didn't ever think of making a WC3 map into a online arena game  good job! updates:it seems that having a battleNet account will still be free Hope that the new BNet let custom maps have their own score/match-tracking system XD or at least release some API for the users to draw match data from battle games and use that to create a outside score/match-tracking site? damn I am sobering again. |

IMO this FF map is ok for single player usage, but for multiple users, i dont know, maybe I get used to MMORPG style for too long, dont get me wrong, this FF map looks almost the same as the game console one, very impressive!! I wonder if there will be Mario Cart/Mario party style of racing map haha where you can choose different route maps/mini games should be fun |

There is another map idea that came to my mind when I was wondering on the streets Here are the ideas: "do what he did" "guitar heros" 1."do what comp did" asically we setup a bunch of body figure action for units, then let comp randomly choose one the action each round, the players has to do the same action as the comp does
to raise the difficulty, we can shorten the player reaction time or make a series of actions
instead of just one.
we can make it a team game or individual competition, just like tower defense
each one has a certain number of lives, or all players share lives
if you didnt make a correct move, you lose one life,
same for the team game
just to exploid the flexibility of the body parts mechanism ;p
2. "Guitar hero" i think you guys played this b4, instead of using colors to indicate the keys to be hit
why not using units to match the keys
the problem is the map size will be huge if we wanna pack several music into one map
(well not sure about this argument) ----to be continued------- |

anyway, it seems that my hardware doesn't meet the minimum requirements of the SC2
so I won't rush into the store right now to get my copy........my wallet is itching though ;p

Lol what new users? That's the point of this thread  Well turns out the computer I'm using now doesn't meet min requirements so I could only play the first two missions which were kind of laggy before the third mission which was essentially unplayable due to how slow it ran. Will just have to wait till the other computer in my house is fixed which can run SC2 properly.
