How to group enemies on your own if needed when to use your spells to keep enemies stunned for as long as possible when your spells no longer kill and how to stall during the the time when you can't stun them. Just in team play you need to cast ethereal shield on teammates not just yourself and stun to save teammates if needed. The run itself in the replay was good, I messed up in forgetting to recast ethereal shield a few times, accidentally used Uthmor on the Spell Bringer and could have lasted a bit longer on the Archers and killed them. Just made this to have at least one hero strategy thread. Attachments:

Link: rapidshare.com/files/328293300/5v1_entro.w3gMT #: 1.90b WC3 Patch Number: 1.24.2 Difficulty: Normal Modes: Extra Bounty 5, Old Waves, Shared Bounty Players: 5vs5 initially ends up being a 5vs1 Length: 50 minutes, Two matches, first one is pretty short What started out as a fairly standard game turned into a 5vs1 in the second match. The first match ended pretty quickly because we had a warlock on our side and there side was largely magic dependent. So mass shear pushed them back rather easily. The second match is where is gets interesting. Our sides two tanks (Barbarian and Paladin) both die to offense from a single darkrift and jomay before the first ranged wave AND both of them experience the revive bug. Then shortly after that on the first Resistant Skin wave the Hypnotist dies then leaves and the Revenant dies only to find out he also has the revive bug. This leaves me in a 5v1 situation vs 1 Ranger, 2 Snipers, 1 Spiked Tree and 1 Thief. Not the best team combination but fact they had a Thief and a Spiked Tree meant I had to deal with rootage and Steals. The game that preceded wasn't just a no offense 5v1, they sent stuns, cripples and multiple Grazhir's Effigy. Though with a counter of teleporting, timed casts of Entropist stuns, purification, Uthmor, some kiting I was able to win. Which was really surprising even though they had a bad team combo and their offense wasn't always the best it was still a 5vs1. It's so rare to get those situations I haven't really had them since the old versions of MT where you could easily hold through low cost tomes. The game in my opinion is really fun to watch due to their reactions and does show some of the tactics you can use as an Entropist with the stun timing and placement to block entrances. I also use the tactic of kiting the enemies from the goal area back to the middle during the bonus wave, forcing the other team to use some offense to push me back to the goal area.

On our half. that was a rather disappointing round. xD 3 long range classes one non aoe dps and one rounded tank did not work to well. nor did the first round of 2 casters on one side and the tanks on the other. Gawd. im embarrassed this made it to the net xD Next time im against you i hope i know a little more about what i am doing. as if you look at my items from sniper. they were shoddy at best.

Better items would have helped but the team setup was the real problem.
If the Thief was a better player and had hit every enemy once with poison it would have helped a lot. Spiked Tree pretty much becomes useless for tanking that far in due to lack of evasion. Snipers also start having trouble killing mid to late game and eventually Ranger would too.
To beat someone with spell block armor and teleportation you need to force him to use teleport or wait till he does then use a stun. Right before the stun hits trigger the spell block with cripple or the Thief's steal and he will be stunned. Unless he uses an anti magic pot. As if the person has teleport ready he can use tp to dodge stun and roots.
Though in this game I think the best tactic would be to constantly use Glythide's Gift (Beer) against me as the only counter is Anti-Magic potions which I could not use forever and when I had to do it cancels my Ethereal shield.
Using Grazhir's Effigy wasn't very smart of an offense either as the Entropist's illusion does not do much damage and Effigies can be too easily countered with Purification as you saw in that game ;D
Dark Rift has a similar problem but you can shear the creeps.

must say. it got to the stage of desperation where instead of teamwork with offensive spells we just piled them in useless proportions only to be dispelled or blocked.
