Gauthus the Entorpist
With his abilities he is one of the best crowd controllers late game,
early on he is quite a decent killer and later on he helps his team survive some of the harder waves.
Armor Type:
Heavy
Damage Reduction:
Chaos 100%
Hero 100%
Magic 125%
Normal 100%
Pierce 100%
Siege 100%
Spells 125%
Skills:
Innate: Sure Footing (Passive)
An aura that increases attack speed as well as movement speed of all allied units. Helps characters with strong normal attacks especially for those early kills. Not much to say expect stay near your allies and also great that the aura helps your allies even when you're using tremor.
Level 1: Ethereal Shield
Anti-magic potion and purification can remove the effect of this skill
Can be casted on allied units/heroes and gives them an armor bonus as well as slowing the attack speed of any enemy melee units that attack them. Though unlike the Cabalist he shouldn't need to be that close to the enemies so tanking with him isn't a priority and he shouldn't have mana problems either. This makes Ethereal Shield quite easy to get for him.
Note: Duration will increase with each level, at first Ethereal Shield will only protect a hero for 1/3 of the cooldown.
Level 1: Fist of Stone
A spell that both does area damage and stuns creeps where you selected. This will be your main killer until you get ring of spears, but later on is still useful for stunning creeps. To maximize the amount of creeps you kill, bunch them up.
Note: Area of Effect increases with each level.
Level 6: Tremor
Channelled Skill
A spell that significantly slows the movement speed of creeps in a large area as long as the Entropist is channeling the spell. Use it to stall creeps until your allies get there or can unleash their abilities and is also useful for bunching up creep that are too deadly to tank. Remember that it only slows their movement speed so it's not that great on ranged waves because they'll still hit you.
Note: Area of Effect increases with each level.
Level 10: Ring of Spears
This skill will be countered by monsters' SpellBlock
Targets a creep or an area and a wave of spears will shoot up from the ground that deals good damage and a long stun duration. When this spell is no longer a killer this is the best stunning spell if used right. The area it shoots out is centered on where you directed going in that direction going a bit to the sides in the shape of a bar. Just remember not to target a creep with spell block when using this skill by directing it on the ground or a creep without spell block.
Suggested Playstyle:
The Entropist is hands down the best stalling unit in the game because not only does he have three really good stall abilities, but they do good damage too unlike the Time Mage. He is also decent at tanking but when combined with his stun abilities he can survive on some waves longer than even some combat heroes.
It is very important to know when to use Tremor and Ring of Spears since both of these skills can save your team, they shouldn't be wasted. A good pattern is using Tremor for as long as possible then Ring of Spears on the bunched up creeps (concentrating on the front row to make a stunned wall) then buying as much extra time as possible with Fist of Stone until you can repeat the process.
Level up Fist of Stone as much as you can, as the aoe/damage/stun is increasing with each level, so the more it's upgraded the more you'll be able to kill.
Tremor should only be used if you want to bunch the creeps, or slow them down if your tank is dead, as mentioned above, it only slows movement, ohh, and a common way to interrupt an Tremor is to summon Uthmor as the creeps will still run fast although they are affected by Tremor.
Get his Ultimate as much as you can for obvious reasons, it will kill a lot of creeps quite far in to the game.
Suggested Items:
Well he could be played as a semi-tank, but he is way better played as a caster, as he can regenerate mana through hisan and pots and then "Hit and Run", casting the spells and run back.
- Elven Stalking Boots
- Elven Plate Mail
- Winged Leather Boots
- Arbelog Paw Boots
- Tribal Staff
- Combo to Elite Elven Boots
Tips:
- Before using Tremor, use an Anti-Magic Potion to prevent stuns.
- Move back when using Tremor, it got quite a long casting range.
- If u see the enemy summon Uthmor when you Tremor, counter it or run, as it maxes the movement of the creeps.
