Still busy but some tips that I'll eventually write in to the original post:
A lot of people use Chain Heal to counter a good Battle Sphere (Stun), but that costs a lot of Spell Bringer mana. A cheaper but riskier alternative is using Whole Displacement. Displace only as much as you need to survive and displace the creeps who are doing the most damage first (so if ranged and melee units are attacking, you generally the melee creeps do more damage).
Of course doesn't work on resistant skin creeps and I can't currently remember how it works on spell block. You'll also have just have a good feeling of when you can be saved through displacement, when you need to use chain heal and when it's impossible to be saved. Remember you can also do it to save allies or enemies if you want to mess around.
Glythtide's Gift (Beer) is a spell most find hard to counter. The easiest way is just to share control with someone and have their spell bringer remove Glythide's Gift, but that's no fun. The reason the beer effect is so difficult to get away from is because you don't know where you're going and often people will run or teleport to the creeps on accident. To ensure you're always going in the right direction use the minimap. If you want generally want to go forward in the map click toward the portal and to go back click to your team's goal. For the right direction teleporting click west of your position on the map if you want to go west, east for east, etc. It's not precise as in you can't teleport to a teleport pad, but you can teleport up cliffs or away from enemies easily, though you will have hard time controlling what distance (generally you'll end up teleporting the max distance).
